Phil777
Hello, apologies if this is in the wrong section, but was hoping someone might be able to shed some light on the 'bomb box' I have recently acquired. It's allegedly from 1953, but I don't really know anything else about it; origins, value etc? Can anyone give me any information about it? Thanks in advance, Phil
MatchFuzee
The date of manufacture and possibly the manufacture's name could be branded on the bottom of the box.
Charlie
Looks like the contents was filled in April 1964 and was lot No.25 Just google 25lb practice bomb and you can see what went in it. Sorry, but not worth a great value, £15-£20 as a prop or just a well built wooden box. C.
Chris Hall
Just the tails came in the box, the heads were in another box and screwed together before issue. They were designed to be dropped from a CBLS AKA Carrier Bomb Light Store fitted to aircraft to simulate dropping a live freefall 1000Lb Bomb.
